Spell psychology for most people develops pictures of rocky face poker players and their habits and actions telling that suggests the value of the cards they hold.
I argue that there is much more to spelpyology. When looking at successful players, they all have a sound money management strategy, a good game strategy, a high level of playing skills, distinctive presentation and, if necessary, the ability to psyche their opponents.
You can argue that some of these aspects of games do not involve psychology. I do not agree.
The audio money management strategy enables the successful player to recover from a series of consecutive lost gaming sessions. Especially in poker, the opponents notice these things and the ability to bounce back has a subtle psychological effect on the opponents. This also makes it possible for you to approach the next session in a better frame than you would otherwise have because you know that if you should loosen again, you still have enough reserves to try again several times.
Without a good game strategy, you will be taken to the cleaners no matter what game you play or where you play. A good strategy simply requires you to play the game to take advantage of all the beneficial bets and to avoid the bets where the house has an unreasonable advantage.
This allows you to play selfesteem, because once your strategy has been tested and proven, you know that when you win your winnings are reasonable to be quite good and at the times when you lose your losses will be relatively modest.
Your gaming skills give you the confidence to adhere to your strategies when under pressure so you maximize your winnings and minimize your losses. If your game stresses you unreasonably, find either a lower limit game or another game that you find less stressful. If that is not possible, its time to find another past time.
Your distinctive presentation sends a message to your opponents. That message depends on where you play. Many years ago, I worked as a cowboy and long clothes in vest shirts, jeans and polished riding boots have been my favorite work and everyday wear since. In the city gives me the picture of a hillbilly. On the poker tables its good because most of those who do not feel me personally tend to judge me as an inexperienced and poor player.
To me, its the unnoticed aspects of spell psychology that all combine to build your personal confidence and let you challenge confidence during your gaming session.
Almost everyone has heard of poker telling even if they do not really know what they are. Stories are the subtle characters that others pick up giving them a good idea of the strength of our poker hand. Hiding these stories from your opponents requires a lot of action skills and exercise, especially when you suddenly find yourself in a good full house or royal flush.
I remember playing against this rocky face guy who barely moved or talked for hours when suddenly the artery on the side of the neck jumped as if he had just run a marathon. He obviously had a hand that he thought was very exciting. While he was able to control his volunteer actions, he could not control his involuntary actions. Anyone who could see that side of the neck folded in turn. If he had come dressed as dandy complete with a cravat, nobody could have noticed his obvious excitement and his pot would have been much bigger.
This event lively illustrates the visible aspects of spell psychology.
Finally, I thought I would do some research to see what the experts have to say about spell psychology. After a few hours of reading these papers, the overwhelming power was that we all showed the early signs of abnormal behavior patterns and if they were caught early, the problem could respond to the treatment. Unfortunately, there are some in our mine where games have become a problem.
I make a point to never play when cash is short because its been my sad experience that, when Ive played in these situations, Ive almost always lost and such losses are double painful. I have always won the most when I was well and really had the loss. To be collected eliminates the stress and reduces the mistakes you make when playing too carefully.
